Updated: Aug 22

Dear Families,

Our Summer Movie nights continue into September! We will be showing “KPOP Demon Hunter” at the St. George School Field on September 12th at 8:00 pm. Don’t be fooled by the name of the movie. It is definitely child-friendly and the big hit of the summer. We will have snacks to share and donations are welcome to help support our neighbors in need through the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Please bring your own lawn chairs and blankets and settle in for a fun evening right after school starts.

Yours in Christ,

Fr. K. Scott Connolly

Pastor

Refugee Ministry Update: Yefremov Family Farewell

ree

In 2023, the South Seattle Parish Family and St. George School welcomed the Yefremov family, a refugee family of five from Ukraine who have been living at the Beacon House at St. Peter for the past two years.  They came under the “Uniting for Ukraine” program on a two-year Humanitarian Parole visa.  Under the current administration, immigration policies have changed and the family no longer has a viable option for staying in the United States.  They have made the difficult decision to move to Europe and start over again.  We are deeply saddened to see them go but are grateful for the time we’ve had with them here and for all the ways our community members have supported them.  If you would like to send a card to the family, please drop it by the Parish Office “c/o Jennifer” by Monday, August 25 or by the School by Tuesday, September 2

Chosen TV Series and Discussion

Imagine you could see the life of Jesus through the eyes of the people who walked on earth with Him. Join fellow parishioners from the South Seattle Parish Family as we watch Season 2 of the first-ever-multi-season TV series about the life of Jesus. We’ll screen each episode at 6pm and then follow up with a group discussion. This is an 8-week series on Tuesday nights from 6-8pm at St. George in the St. Francis Room, starting on September 9. For more information and to register, contact Jennifer at jibach@stedwardparish.net Note: You can watch at home and join us at 7pm for the discussion as well. Appropriate for ages 13+.

Parish Demographics Survey

ree

In our efforts to learn more about you and each of our church communities for Partners in the Gospel, we are sending out this demographic survey to learn more about who we are. This is part of the first phase of the Partners in the Gospel consolidation process, which focuses on “Who Are We?” Can you please take a few minutes to help fill out this confidential form? The information is anonymous (unless you choose to add your name) and will not be shared outside our churches. If you are not currently registered in the parish, you have the option to fill out the personal information at the bottom as well. Thank you for taking the time. To learn more about Partners in the Gospel, go to https://archseattle.org/partners/ and see the attached insert with our one-year update.
