Dear St. George Families,
It is not too late to order your 24Karat Magic auction ticket.
Help us bridge the gap between the Cost to Educate and that actual tuition charge by supporting the auction!
Registration 2024-2025
To secure your spot, complete the Commitment Form and update your Contact Information in Finalsite. The registration fee is $325/student until March 1, 2024. After March 1, 2024, there will be a $50 late fee/student, and registration will be open to new students.
Tomorrow is the ALL SCHOOL LENTEN SOUP LUNCH! In the tradition of our community, we will work collaboratively as a school and make a soup lunch for all the students and faculty. We ask each child to bring a specific donation for the lunch as well pay $3.00 to purchase the soup lunch. (Grades Preschool- 4th bring one 8 ounce can of condensed tomato soup; and Grades 5th-8th bring one dozen dinner rolls.) ALL funds will be billed on March 23rd through Finalsite for your convenience. The collected $3.00/child (full day preschool, PreK and K-8), along with funds collected on Holy Thursday from the students’ Rice Bowls will be sent to Catholic Relief Services. There is NO other HOT LUNCH available, nor do students bring a personal lunch except in the case of severe allergies. We all eat the same lunch just as our brothers and sisters in refugee camps do.
We invite everyone to the Stations of the Cross/ Lenten Soup Supper hosted by school families on Friday Feb. 23rd at 6:00 PM at St. George Church.
We will pray the Stations of the Cross at 6:00 PM directly followed by the soup supper. Fr. Armando and Fr. Scott will be available for the sacrament of Reconciliation at 6: 00 PM.

Father Scott shared that he has to have part two of his back surgery next Wed., Feb. 28th. The doctors will fix the last 4 vertebrae in his back! He asks for your continued prayers and says that he and Fr. Armando are most grateful for the recent meal deliveries. Those allow Fr. Scott to rest when he can and helps Fr. Armando in caring for him while picking up a few extra parish and school responsibilities. We have add three more weeks on to the meal brigade to help in his next recovery. Please click on the link below if you can bring a meal on Mondays, Wednesdays or Saturdays from Feb. 26th- March 16th. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0849ADAF22A5F94-48078662-meals

From Fr, Scott Synod Listening Session: Help Reform the Church
The global Church has been in the process of a worldwide Synod that began in the fall of 2021 with the consultation of the faithful around the world through a series of Synod Listening Sessions (we held several sessions in our South Seattle Parishes). The feedback helped shape the themes and questions considered at the Synod Assembly in Rome last October, where Archbishop Etienne was a delegate. The Synod concludes with a second Assembly in October 2024 and the Vatican is inviting local Churches to undertake a second round of consultative Listening Sessions, this time on the theme of the “co-responsibility of the baptized”. Come share your thoughts and hear from others as we listen to the Holy Spirit and discern together how our current Church structures, leadership and life hinder, encourage, and foster our shared mission. Join us on Saturday, March 2 at 10am at St. Edward in the Hall for this 90-120 minute process. We will have groups available in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese.
Sincerely,
Monica Wingard
