Volunteer Requirements & Safe Environment Compliance
St. George Parish School is committed to creating a safe and protected environment for every student. As part of the Archdiocese of Seattle’s Safe Environment Program, all volunteers must complete required training and documentation before participating in any school activities or events involving children.

Instructions for volunteers whose training or background check is expiring and need to renew.
🔍 Requirements for Compliance
Each volunteer must have ALL THREE of the following:
✅ VIRTUS training (Valid for 3 years )
✅ Background check (Valid for 3 years)
✅ Document acknowledgement on file (One-time only)
First-Time Volunteer Instructions
1. Go to www.virtusonline.org
2. Select Being the registration process
3. Select Seattle, WA (Archdiocese)
4. Select have you registered with VIRTUS previously?
5. Follow the below to create a User ID & Password
6. Please enter your info below
7. Please select Location: St. George School - Seattle (Seattle), hit Continue
8. Please review the options below and select all that apply to you
9. Please read and sign the below Safe Environment Church Personnel Policies.
10. Select if you have attended the class below (it's OK to select NO, sign up info is on the next screen.)
11. You may select Online or In-Person Protecting God's Children class, then hit continue at the bottom of the page
12. Follow the instruction below (click on the link) to conduct a Background Check
13. Follow the instruction below (click on the link) to conduct a Background Check
14. Sign the below
15. Hit "Submit Application" button (for background check)
16. You have completed your application.
17. Click on "Home" to see if you have any Outstanding Trainings. Outstanding items would mark in Red as shown as below. If you haven't complete your online training, please complete by clicking on the link in the Current Training tile (show in blue below).
18. In order to Volunteer at St. George School, your VIRTUS dashboard needs to be all green as shown as below.
Returning Volunteers / Renewals
1. Go to www.virtusonline.org and log in. If you don’t remember your login or password, click “Need login information?” to reset it.
2. After logging in, go to your dashboard. You’ll see any expired items highlighted — just click each tile and complete the required steps.
