March 14, 2024

Dear St. George Families,

WOW: the auction was so much FUN!  Be sure to check out all the terrific pictures on our school Facebook and Instagram accounts. Thank you to all who came out to celebrate and raise money for St. George. More than 260 people rallied together in fellowship!

The auction committee is wrapping up the details and will come out with final numbers soon.

Remember to ask your work place about MATHCING FUNDS. Many companies will match your donations for a double impact for St. George. Go to our website at https://www.saintgeorgeseattle.org/giving/matching for more information.

I am also extremely grateful to all the families who helped plan for and run the auction. Your more than generous donation of time, energy and procurement is greatly appreciated by us all!

Annual Day of Service: Registration Open!

Model for your children what it means to serve others!

Our annual Day of Service is happening on Saturday, April 27, 2024.  This fun day brings together over 400 volunteers from our four South Seattle Catholic Parishes as well as Our Lady of Guadalupe and Holy Rosary in West Seattle.  We provide a variety of activities for all ages, schedules, and abilities.  Volunteers serve all over our region to help support over 25 agencies!  Signups are now open.  Visit //bit.ly/multi-parishdayofservice or sign up in the church entryway.  Middle school students can count this time for their service hours

You can also support our Seafarers project by donating items for “ditty bags”.

Visit //bit.ly/3wIcy86 for our Amazon Wish List to make shopping easy or see a list on needed items on the flyer in the school entry.  Want to help make the day happen?  Join us for our next planning meeting on Monday, March 25 at 7pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Next week, our 8th graders

are off to Forks, WA for a week-long environmental camp at NatureBridge at Olympic National Park.  Thank you to the parent chaperones who stepped up to help. Without them, this opportunity could not happen.

Back by popular demand is our St George Summer School!

We are already collecting registration from K-5th grade students in our sister schools. Our summer program is open for any St. George student Preschool-7th grade. See the attached flyer and registration form for more details.

Reminder: There is NO SCHOOL Preschool-8th tomorrow, March 15th as the teachers will be on retreat.

Holy Week is coming March 24- March 31.

I have attached a flyer of Holy Week events at our four parishes.

On Good Friday at 8:30 AM, the 5th grade class will be hosting a LIVING STATIONS of the CROSS.  Everyone is invited to come join us as we walk the journey of Jesus to the cross.

St. George will be closed for Easter vacation April 1- April 5.

In peace,
