Dear St. George Families,
St. George spends about $15,000 each year on iReady (Math K-8, reading K-4) and Achieve 3000 (reading 5-8) which are adaptive platforms for math and reading. We believe these programs meet students where they are at and pull them up to the next level!
I want to give a SHOUT OUT to our 5th-8th grade students. In going over our Achieve 3000 scores with the district representative, she was extremely impressed with our student growth in reading. She said St. George should be teaching other schools how to use this program effectively. I am so proud of our teachers and students who are working together to ensure each child is growing immensely as a reader!
Our students in Grades 5-8 have BLOWN AWAY the national average for growth!

Back in February, our iReady consult also commented on the strong growth rate of our K-4 students in reading and our K-8 students in Math. She told us her other schools would be so envious of these growth rates. We could not be more proud of how hard the St. George students work and of their personal drive to grow as learners while help their friends along the way!
Parents’ Club. I want to SHOUT OUT a big THANK YOU to Mary Ligot, Suni Johnson and Mia Mlekarov who have led the charge as Parent Club Leadership these last two years. If you have enjoyed a St. George event in the recent past, you have those ladies and their organization, support and leadership for Room Parents to thank! All three women have full time jobs, yet they still were so gracious to spend countless hours building community at St. George and leading fun events for all.
We welcome and thank Alex Cooper and Jeff Castro who have stepped up to be the new Parents’ Club Leadership Team. We will be sending out a Sign-Up Genius soon to recruit Room Parents, and event leads for next year’s Jogathon, Halloween Carnival and such. Look for that SOON! Any parent who would like to join Alex and Jeff as Co-Parent Club leaders, let me know!
