Soon and Very Soon we are going to see our King!

December 14, 2023

Dear St. George

Week Three of Advent – Peace. As Fr. Kim said in his homily Sunday, this is the week of Peace. God purposely sent his son to us in a humble, homeless, refugee family. God points out that we are called to bring comfort and peace to all as his children.

First Trimester Report Cards will go home tomorrow. Please keep the report card, sign the envelope and send it back for us to reuse for next time!

I am attaching the Advent schedule of events and Christmas Masses for our South Cluster parishes. Our parishes are also looking for volunteers this weekend after Masses to help decorate the churches for the holidays. This is a wonderful opportunity to show your participation as a parishioner! For St. George and Peter, contact Ana Juguilon at AJuguilon@stgeorgeparish.com for more information. Ann Stanton at St Paul; Anne Stanton AStanton@stpaulparish.com and Vince Sobrevilla at St. Edward vsobrevilla@stedwardparish.net

2024-25 Fulcrum Tuition Assistance Applications are due Sunday December 31, 2023.  Go to https://fulcrumfoundation.org/grants-programs/supporting-students/ and complete your application. Only families who fully complete the application will be considered.

Thursday, Dec. 14th at 6:30 PM in the church is our Advent Concert.

Doors will open 5:45. This is a mandatory event for all Preschool - 5th grade students and 6-8 graders who are taking music this trimester. The students are working together to create a beautiful piece of music and when classmates don’t show up, it lets the class down.

Any 6th – 8th student not performing that night may attend if accompanied by a parent and they MUST sit with their parents in the pews and not congregate in the back.  NO child may be dropped off unattended by parents.

The 8th grade families will be hosting a huge bake sale in the vestibule after concert for a treat for the ride home. Please bring small bills $1, $5 and $10.

Friday Dec. 15th 8:00-12:00 PM. School will dismiss at NOON for Preschool-8th grade and there is NO EXTENDED CARE. Campus is closed Dec.18 – Jan. 1 for Christmas vacation. School resumes Tuesday, January 2.

8:30 AM Everyone is welcome to attend the all-school Mass on Friday Dec 15th.

11:00 AM Friday -  We will host our First Trimester Honors assembly in the school hall. All parents are invited to celebrate the hard work of all our students.

Lost and Found will be laid out for families to come sort through on Thursday and Friday! Our own Mt. St. Helen’s of coats is ready to erupt!

On behalf of all the staff, we wish you a most joyous Christmas and a blessed new year! May the peace of Christ be with all of you J
