Welcome to Preschool!
St. George Parish School proudly offers a Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten (PreK) for the early learners in our community. Our program is fully licensed with the State of Washington Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) while also in compliance of all Archdiocesan requirements for Catholic Schools.
Our site sits one block south of our main school just behind the church with easy parking access for parents. The building was remodel in 2018 with clean, bright rooms and a generous outside play area for children.
We offer one Preschool class for 20 students who are age three by August 31 of the upcoming school year and one Pre-Kindergarten class for 20 students who are age four by the same date. Families can choose between either options.
- Half day Program (8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.)
- Full Day Program (8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.)
To support our parents, we offer Extended Care
- Morning Care (7:00-7:45 a.m.) additional $400/year ($40/month)
- After School care (4:15-6:00 p.m.) additional $750/year ($75/month)
Because of the laws regulating pupil/student ratio, Extended Care is offered only through advanced registration. It is not available on a drop-in basis. According to state law, preschool/PreK students may NOT stay longer than 10 hours a day at a care center.
The students are exposed to best practice curriculum standards for reading, writing, math, science, social studies, art, service learning and religion in a social and emotional supportive environment.
In addition, our students receive a weekly music lesson from our music specialist and a visit from our school librarian for story time and activities. The students also walk up to the “Big School” twice a week for a physical education class taught by our school P.E. teacher. The PreK attend weekly Mass with the whole school November – June, and the Preschoolers attend Mass beginning in May.
Though the Preschool/PreK program is housed on their own site, they are included in many ALL School assemblies and activities throughout the year when age appropriate.
All our Preschool and PreK parents are encouraged to participate in the St. George Parent Teacher Association and are included in all the events that transpire in our Catholic School community.
We hope that St. George Parish School becomes your second home and that you see the value in partnering with us for the next ten and eleven years of education for your children!
