Upcoming Parish Events

Join the Life, Justice, and Peace Commission

Did you know that we have a regional Life, Justice, and Peace Commission, made up of members for all four South Seattle parishes?  The Commission focuses on integrating Catholic social teaching into the life of the parish by providing opportunities for service and education.  We are currently supporting the annual Day of Service, Refugee Ministry, and Hunger Relief efforts in our parishes.  We are looking at how we can better know the needs of our community and help to fill the gaps.  If you are interested in learning more, join us for our next meeting on Thursday, January 18 at 6:30pm at St. George in the St. Francis Hall.

Join our St. Vincent de Paul Conference

Thank you to all who support the St. Vincent de Paul ministry at St. Peter and St. George.  We reach out to neighbors in need, providing them support, rent and utilities assistance, and food from our pantry.  We have combined our conferences to better serve our community and are welcoming new members.  Want to learn more about the St. Vincent de Paul ministry?  Join us at our next meeting on Sunday, January 21 after the 8:30am Mass at St. Peter in the Parish Hall.  You can also support the ministry by contributing to our collections on the first weekend of every month.  Contact Jennifer to find out more: jibach@stedwardparish.net or 206-762-7744.

Annual Day of Service: Save the Date!

Our annual Day of Service is happening on Saturday, April 27, 2024.  This fun day brings together over 400 volunteers from our four South Seattle Catholic Parishes as well as Our Lady of Guadalupe and Holy Rosary in West Seattle.  We provide a variety of activities for all ages, schedules, and abilities.  Volunteers serve all over our region to help support over 20 agencies!  Be sure to save the date and look for signups in early March.

Share your Talents with the Parish this Year

Are you thinking of beginning the New Year by using your talents in a ministry of our parish?  There are many ways to get involved.  Help teach our children, support our middle school youth group, or provide snacks for their gatherings.  Help our neighbors in need through St. Vincent de Paul, the Day of Service or our Life, Justice and Peace Commission.  Contribute to our liturgies by joining the choir, becoming a lector, altar server, or Eucharistic Minister, or help decorate the church for our Masses.  Lead a Lenten small group, join the Knights of Columbus, or help plan one of our annual social gatherings.  There are many ways to get involved.  Reach out to your Office Coordinator or contact Jennifer to learn more: jibach@stedwardparish.net or 206-762-7888.  Your parish thanks you!

Partners in the Gospel FAQ: What is the Process?

Have you been hearing the term “Partners in the Gospel” but you’re not really sure what it is?  Partners in the Gospel is a strategic pastoral planning effort taking place across the Archdiocese of Seattle to re-invigorate and renew our local Catholic Church.  This is a multiyear, consultative synodal process and everyone is invited to participate.  In the first phase, the archdiocese requested input on a draft of the parish families from priests and parish leaders, school principals and leadership, archdiocesan employees and all Catholics across the archdiocese.  Now that all the input has been collected, the Oversight Committee and the Presbyteral Council have finalized a recommendation. Archbishop Etienne will discern the recommendation and then officially promulgate the new parish family structure within the next month or so. In the next phase, parish families will work together over three years or so to determine how they will best become one parish (by summer 2027). Each parish family will have a liaison assigned to them to help throughout the process.  Learn more at https://archseattle.org/partners
