Dear St. George Families,
We have been using the quote above from St. Francis and singing the song They’ll know we are Christians by Our Love, to help the students understand that our ACTIONS truly show our character and what we value as individuals. In a community, everyone’s needs matter. This is a great time for you to reiterate at home your family’s expectations in how we treat others and work together in community. The children are always watching our moves as adults, too, so we must WALK the walk, not just talk the talk.
With Seattle schools opening this week, we have increased traffic at drop off and pickup. We appreciate you following our protocols as they learn their new routines.
Here are some critical phone numbers for our campus if you need to reach us.
Main K-8 school 206-762-0656
K-8, Extended Care 206-403-0174. That line is open from dismissal to 6:00 PM.
Preschool/PreK 206-763-5217
It was wonderful to see so many families at the Back to School BBQ. Thank you to Derrick and Ana Godornes for heading this event and for all those who stepped in to volunteer. We served 215 meals and had 70 participating families!
It appears that CateringbyEdwin’s hamburgers were a hit among parents as well as the kids! Our families had the chance to get to know new dragons, catch up with returning families, and share summer time stories!
We’ve attached October’s lunch menu this week. All orders and cash are due Wed. Sept. 28th
Sacramental Preparation classes for First Communion, Reconciliation (2nd grade and older) and Confirmation (7th graders and older) and Sunday school begin THIS weekend. Contact your local parish for registration information.
The Parents’ Club has an overarching goal of raising $190,000 this year! Our JOGATHON fundraising efforts have been growing. In 2020-21 we raised $49,193.77 Last year, was our all-time record high of $65,764.52! Let’s keep the momentum and shoot for $70,000. Divided by 200 families that is a $350 family average!
A quick note about our new fundraising software - while we collect donations for the jogathon, emails are sent daily to families whose children have received a donation in their name. There isn't a way to log in to the website to see the donations. While the Development Office is tracking the donations received, we send a copy of the receipt to families. If any family has a question about a specific donation, please send a message to development@saintgeorgeseattle.org
We invite ALL St. George families to our 10:30 Mass on Sunday, Sept. 25th. The Jogathon will start directly following Mass at 11:30. The starting line is in the church parking lot. We run north up 13th to Oregon, west to 12th and south on 12th through Maple Park and home!
All runners and walkers celebrate with Husky Ice Cream at the finish line! It is not too early to start getting your pledges. Share the link https://saintgeorgeseattle.ejoinme.org/rundragons to friends and families! Families who raise $250 earn a free t-shirt, designed by winning student artist London Vaughn, for each St. George student in their family. Get your funds in by Sept. 23rd so you can wear your shirt on race day!
