Dear St. George Families,
Our 8th graders are out this week at the Olympic Park Institute on the peninsula for science camp. We keep them and the generous chaperones in our prayers.
Today, our 6th graders spent the day at the Seattle Science Center. Thank you to those parents who helped make that happen for the students.
Tomorrow at 10:00 AM, the 5th Avenue Theater troupe will perform the play Northwest Bookshelf for our students in grades Preschool-5th.
On Monday, we welcome four Japanese middle schoolers to St. George who are participating in a one week Home Stay Program. These young people will be attending classes all week with the 7th and 8th graders and will experience the openness of our warm and caring community. Thank you to the De Castro, McCann and Navlet-Yee families for opening up their homes this year. Now that COVID is over, we hope to make this a yearly experience for our community. It helps our children understand that we are ONE world and ONE human family with much to learn from each other.
March 25th is the Day of Service from 10:00 AM-1:00 PM. This is a great opportunity for you to model for your children what it means to care for others in our community. Go to https://bit.ly/2023DayofService and find a project that works for you! This does count for school service hours too.
We need 15 strong volunteers to help us put together three new tents 10 x 20 for our courtyard. Email chanley@saintgeorgeseattle.org if you can help!
March 26th from 1-4 First Communion Pop-Up Closet. A community of moms organized a check-out closet of First Holy Communions dresses, veils, gloves, suits, barongs and other culture First Communion attire including shoes. They host the first Pop-Up Closet at St. George School Hall on Sunday, March 26th from 1:00-4:00 where families can borrow an outfit for their child’s big day this spring! Call 425-466-1602 or email at firstcommunioncoset@gmail.com to schedule an appointment
