“Want to change the world? There’s nothing to it.” - Willy Wonka

Dear St. George Parents,

Thank you to all of our 236 bidders for changing the world! Pure Imagination grossed $107,000 on Saturday night! Our pre-auction fundraising (ticket sales, donations & sponsorships) totaled $33k, for a gross total of $140,000!

However, we have yet to settle vendor payments & reimbursements, and we’re still receiving post-event donations!

Thank you to friends and families who are still sending in donations, but were unable to attend. If you (or someone you know) would like to do the same, donations can be made online at: https://saintgeorgeseattle.ejoinme.org/donate

Donations can also be sent to our school at 5117 13th Ave South, Seattle WA 98108.

We hope to report a net figure in the coming weeks!

And don’t forget to take advantage of employer matching funds!

Auction Highlights:

Our graduating Class of 2023 volunteers rocked the show! We sold out of Golden Tickets even before dinner began. Look out world! We’ve got some future marketing leaders coming your way! We couldn’t be more proud of and thankful for this amazing group of young ladies & gentlemen. Thank you, 8th graders, for helping to make this auction a success!

Ms. Elgie & Mrs. Sacramento will be getting a new dishwasher! No more hand-washing all those plates & cups for the preschool! Thank you to all who donated to the teachers’ wish lists. All the teachers received generous donations to help them purchase items for the classroom. And it’s not too late to help your favorite St. George teacher. Teacher wish list donations can still be made at: https://saintgeorgeseattle.ejoinme.org/donate.

Candy is truly dandy as the Dessert Dash table was a sight to see! Cakes, cookies, pies, and chocolate eggs, oh my! Thank you to our 8th grade dad, Peter Serrano, for putting your talents to work in displaying all the fabulous desserts donated to the auction. The Dessert Dash resulted in $8,100 for St. George!!!

Paul Rittman Field will now become . . . Paul Rittman Field! A bidding war turned into a collaborative donation by Thom McCann, Jason Fredette & David Watson to keep St. George’s playfield named after the iconic, Mr. Rittman. His famous brownies really do earn brownie points! We’re working on a new, big sign to unveil at the start of the 2023-2024 school year. It’ll be hard to miss!

Thank you to Kenny Rogers, DeDe Akamine & RainCity Catering for hosting us at the Renton Pavilion Events Center! A truly wonderful time was had by all!

Thank you to all of our volunteers for helping to make this auction possible!

Thank you to all of our guests, donors & sponsors for your generous support of St. George!

And thank you to our amazing 2023 Auction Team for your hard work & dedication these last few months - Clara Doctolero, Jen Miranda, Lori Tucci, Nerissa Woo, Joe Wong, Leila Horejsi, Michele Slaughter, Mary Corrales & Alen Cabral. We couldn’t have done this without you!

2023 Summer School registration is still open for our students Preschool- Grade 6.

Second Trimester Honor Roll Friday March 31 following Mass in the church. Everyone is invited.

March 25th is the Day of Service from 10:0 AM-1:00 PM. It is wonderful to see so many families signing up for the various projects. This is a great opportunity for you to model for your children what it means to care for others in our community. Go to https://bit.ly/2023DayofService and find a project that works for you! This does count for school service hours too.

On that day, we are in need of some 15 strong volunteers to help us put together three new tents 10 x 20 for our courtyard. The ones we have for the last three years have taken a beating and we are replacing them. Email chanley@saintgeorgeseattle.org if you can help!

March 26th from 1-4 First Communion Pop-Up Closet. There is a community of moms that is organizing a check-out closet of First Holy Communions dresses, veils, gloves, suits, barongs and other culture First Communion attire including shoes. They want to ensure that First Communion occasion clothing is more accessible to all families in Seattle and help offset any financial burdens for families during this most holy event.

They are currently soliciting donations of gently used clothing for First Communion.

Our main office is collecting donations from any families in our own community.

They have organized the very FIRST Pop up Closet at St. George School on Sunday, March 26th from 1:00-4:00 where families can borrow an outfit for their child’s big day this spring! See that attachment for reservations.

March 31st We will be hosting The Lenten Soup Lunch for the students. Each child is assigned by grade level to bring a can of condensed tomato soup or a bag of dinner rolls AND $3.00 for the soup lunch. All proceeds go to Rice Bowl. There is no other lunch alternative that day.

We could use 5 volunteers to help the students. Sign up here. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C094BACA623AAF9C07-lenten

Lenten Soup Dinner. Our Parents Club will be hosting Stations of the Cross and a Lenten Soup Dinner on Friday March 31 at 6:00 in the church. Parents are asked to bring a non-meat soup, stew or dish to share. If you are not sure what to cook go to https://www.crsricebowl.org/families and check out the meatless meal recipes from various cultures around the world.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day
