Principal's Weekly Newsletter
Feb. 2, 2023
THANK YOU to all the families who have volunteered to help at the St. Peter and St. George Masses last weekend. It was so wonderful to see the students involved as greeters, readers, singers and for the offertory.
This weekend, I will be speaking at the 8:30 Sunday Mass at St. Paul, the 10:30 Mass at St. Edward as well as the 1:00 Spanish Mass. Our School families will be hosting coffee and donuts after the services. We hope that all of our school families who are parishioners at each of those churches will join us at Mass. We encourage students to dress in their full school uniforms and parents in their St. George Swag to celebrate our school. We invite older siblings in our Catholic High Schools or Catholic Universities to wear theirs, too! Catholic education is alive and well in Western Washington!
It has been a super fun week! We love seeing the creative outfits that kids have put together. We had a huge turnout for our Family Luncheon. Thank you to all the families who came and especially those who included other children into their midst. We have the best, BIG HEARTED parents in town.
Tonight is our monthly Parents Club Meeting. We hope everyone attends via ZOOM to hear about all the ways you can support your family’s school!
Our annual State of the School Address will be in the school hall on Thursday, February 9th at 6:30 PM. Parents are expected to attend and will earn a service hour.
Our topics include St. George Parish School’s finances, academics and curriculum, and connection between churches and school, our maintenance goals for the summer and our tuition contracts for the 2023-24 school year.
This year, registration will be ON LINE through an Archdiocesan mandated program called School Admin. Registration fees can be paid via credit card, check or cash. Registration opens February 10th and the deadline to register is March 1, 2023.
Free CHILDCARE for all students is available in the gym for those families who have no other alternatives.
If you can’t make it, let me know so we can set up an appointment to go over key information and registration for 2023-24
St. George Summer School 2023 is back by popular demand. We will be hosting a 5 week academic summer school for students, Preschool – 5th Grade. Because we have a limited number of staff members, we are opening registration to our own St. George kiddoes before we open it up to the other Catholic schools in the area on March 1st. The $100 Summer School registration fee is due with the registration form to save your spot. Students will continue to practice this year’s grade level skills in math, reading and ELA. We also have a full day option for those in need of child care.
We will have ONE ROOM of 20 mixed Preschool-PreK students who are currently in our program.
If you are interested in Summer School see the attached flyers and get your registration form in by Feb. 28. Because of limited space, registration is on a first come, first serve basis.
