Happy New Year St. George Families,
I pray your holidays were joyous and that you all had plenty of extra family time to relax and find peace together. It felt long with the extra day!
Tomorrow is the Feast of the Epiphany and the end of the Christmas season. Just as the Three Kings followed the light of Jesus, we all look towards His light and celebrate the birth of our savior. May we be inspired to let His light shine in our gifts of love, compassion and forgiveness we share in His honor with our neighbors.
Since it is First Friday Spirit Day, all students are welcome to wear blue or black jeans and their St. George shirts/t-shirts tomorrow. Otherwise, they need to wear their uniform. Tomorrow is a FULL DAY of school, not a noon dismissal.
Our Parents Club meeting is tonight on Zoom at 6:30 PM via Zoom.

News from the parish
Thank you for your Generosity! A BIG THANK YOU to all those who supported our holiday giving efforts. Through your generosity, we were able to provide gifts, as well as love and hope to those in need in our community. Our parishes and St. George school provided gifts for 25 families (well over 150 gifts) at Catholic Community Services’ Pregnancy and Parenting Support Program, housed at St. Edward, and helped to hand them out in the snow! We collected over 80 gift cards to help families in need through St. Edward’s St. Vincent de Paul conference, who handed them out to families along with a Christmas treat and some holiday cheer. Finally, we collected hundreds of dollars and a handful of games for the Seattle Seafarers’ Center, directed by our own Deacon Joey DeLeon of St. Paul Parish. This money will allow the ministry to provide SIM cards and entertainment to the seafarers who are far from home this holiday season. Thank you for helping to make Christ’s love tangible this Christmas season!
Whole Family Faith Formation: Epiphany. Families with children in K-6th grade are invited to join us on Sunday, January 8 at 9am at St. George for our Whole Family Faith Formation gathering. Come learn a little about Epiphany and celebrate this great day with us. We will begin with a short group lesson and then have fun activities for you to do together at six different stations. Afterward, we will all attend a family Mass together at the 10:30 am. Please RSVP to Jennifer at jibach@stedwardparish.net Registration forms and a calendar can be found at: https://www.stgeorgeparish.com/religious-education
Peace Circles. We live in a complicated world with so many voices, devices, and distractions. Who deeply listens to us in our lives? How do we really listen and understand others? Jesus in the Gospels gives us many wonderful examples of truly listening to and knowing the people he had encountered. By knowing, Jesus fully loved them– even his enemies. Fr. Art Gramaje C.M.F. will present an informational-introductory session for the upcoming "Peace Circles" gatherings. He will meet on Tuesday, January 10 in St. Paul church after mass (about 6:45pm) with anyone interested or curious about these reflective opportunities. Join us!

Finally, if you need some volunteer hours and can answer phones and administer band aids, we could use some help in the front office on Thursday and Friday, January 26th & 27th. We need coverage between 8 AM and 3 PM – 3 or 4 hour shifts, or the whole day. Please contact the office if you are interested.
I pray that 2023 will bring good health, much joy and peace to all! I am so proud to be a Dragon
Sincerely
Monica Wingard
