Sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous deeds. ~Psalm 98

December 8, 2022

Hello St. George Parents,

Thank you to the generous hearts that made a Shoebox of Joy. Our school sent 97 boxes of joy to the homebound through Catholic Community Services.

2022 Appeal for the Poor. Did you know that after the state government, Catholic Community Services is the largest social service network in the state that supports food programs, temporary and permanent housing, counseling services, as well as programs for the sick, elderly, and homebound? CCS is accepting donations to support their work at https://ccsww.org/2022-appeal-for-the-poor/

Parish Announcements

Cristo Rey Seattle Open House

Cristo Rey, a new, low-cost Catholic college prep high school, is coming to Seattle. In addition to classes, the school will feature a unique program with 4 years of professional work experience. They anticipate opening to 9th graders in 2024 and are inviting families of 6th and 7th graders to an Open House on Monday, December 19 at 6pm at St. Paul’s in Romans Hall. The evening will include a tour of the future school, dinner (catered by Mr. Edwin), information and raffles. For more information and to RSVP, visit www.cristoreyseattle.org/for-prospective-familiespara-potenciales-familias and email info@cristoreyseattle.org

Reconciliation Service

Join us for a Reconciliation Service this Friday, December 9th at 7pm at St. George. This is a wonderful opportunity during Advent to prepare our hearts for the coming of the Lord. At these liturgies, we will listen to Scripture and to God’s call to continuing conversion and repentance, and to God’s steadfast offer of mercy and forgiveness. We will have several priests available for individual confession as well.

St. George Parish Phones Down

We are currently experiencing an issue with our phones. Callers are getting a message saying the line has been disconnected. We are aware of the problem and are trying to resolve it as quickly as possible. In the meantime, please reach out to us via email at info@stgeorgeparish.com Thank you for your patience.

See the attached hot lunch menu for January. Orders and payment – exact change or check made out to Catering by Edwin – are due Thursday, December 15th.

We are on the uphill health swing with attendance numbers climbing! Hang tight everyone!
