Parents' Club

Growing Stronger Working Together

Due to the restrictions of the pandemic, our social and fundraising activities at St. George have

been very limited. At the same time, our community has grown in numbers and many parents

have yet to get to know everyone. Now it is time to reignite our leadership committees. This

spring, our Development Director Andrea Chiodo took charge of four areas: Fundraising,

Marketing, Alumni and Website& Social Media. She will partner with the Parents’ Club

Leadership Team to offer families a variety of ways to fulfill their fundraising and service hour

commitments.

St. George School is blessed with 200+ uniquely wonderful families. All of our parents juggle

work, school, afterschool activities, church commitments and home life. It is the expectation

at registration that families support their children, the other students in the classrooms, and our

school events so as to enrich all the children’s school experience. We ask that you continue to

make your child’s experience at St. George a priority through your active participation in the

school and Parents’ Club. Right now I am asking for your HELP! We need more parents to step

up and say I can help as President, VP, Secretary, Room parents, and Halloween Chairs.

Parents’ Club

  • EVERY school parent is a member.

  • Attendance and participation at meetings earns you service hours.

  • Meetings are the First Thursday of each Month at 6:30PM in the school hall starting

  • September 1, 2022

  • All leadership roles fulfill the 40 hours commitment

Please read the Parents’ Club Leadership Team roles below and consider volunteering your

gifts and talents.

President- Duties: Works in conjunction with the Principal and Development director at

separate monthly meeting in overseeing the organization of the Parents’ Club’s social and

fundraising events. Facilitates First Wednesday Parent Club meetings at 6:30 PM in the school

hall. Recruits families to volunteerism in the school at events. This is a one year commitment for

2022-23. I am attaching a general events calendar for the 2022-23 school year

Vice President- Duties: Supports the President in his/her work as president in overseeing the

organization of the Parents’ Club’s social and fundraising events with a keen focus on

volunteerism using tools like Sign-up Genius as well as personal recruitment. It is a two year

commitment. The person would serve as VP for one year and roll into P for the following year.

Secretary: Duties: Take notes at each Parents’ Club meeting that are then sent to the room

parents. Creates working for social media in advertising and marketing school events in

conjunction with the Development Director and/or principal.

Preschool- 8th Grade Room Parents: Duties: Attend monthly Parents’ Club meetings

representing their homerooms. Work to build community support for the ongoing activities

during the year. Spread the news and work of the Parents Club via email to their class families

thus rallying volunteers. Organize class to host one faculty lunch on a First Friday. Organize

class Halloween and auction initiatives.

October 28 Halloween Carnival/Trunk or Treat Chairs: Organize Room Parents in creating

games and activity booths for the students including soliciting volunteers to run the booths. Plan

and organize a menu of food and drinks. Organize decorations, set up and clean-up. This makes

sense to be 5th-8th grade parents as our last carnival was over three years ago and our newer

families have never been to one here before!

Thank you to Kristin Huang who volunteered to be the chair! She needs a couple deputies.

  • Deputies: These two people help the lead this year with the understanding that they will lead next year. This builds the succession cycle.

2023 Auction Chairs: Hera Fredette and Cindy Corsilles have agreed to co-chair next year.

I am so grateful to the consistent slew of parents who always step up and help where and when

they can. I also look forward to seeing more of you jump in and see how fun it can be working

together.

I look forward to your email saying, I’M IN. SIGN ME UP just like the parents below did!
