Tuition does not cover the full cost of education

Our 2024-25 annual tuition rate is $7,436 for in-parish, and $9,196 for out-of-parish for K-8. However, the total Cost to Educate is $11,000. We maintain a steady increase in tuition each year to meet the rising costs of our economy, but there is still a gap. Help us bridge the gap so we can continue to keep our quality education affordable for all families of our community.

Our Georgian Fund currently provides tuition assistance to 30% of our students for K-8.

Through this sponsorship, you’re giving the gift of a Catholic education to a child whose family faces financial challenges that would prevent them from attending St. George.

Sponsors may also pay tuition or partial tuition directly to the school in the name of the child. Please inquire with our office to sponsor a student.

There are various soft costs of education and enrichment offerings that are important to keep our students well-rounded and holistic in their educational and spiritual well-being.

Soft Costs include:

Field Trip + Transportation Fees: $100 per student
CYO Sports Fees: $100 per student
Outdoor Educational Camp Fee: $400 per student
Technology Programs: $250 per student
Technology - Chromebooks: $450 per student

Music/Library/Art Program: $75 per student
Teacher Wages: to ensure pay equity and retain top talent, we want our teachers’ salaries to stay competitive and account for the increases of cost of living in this great city of Seattle

Upcoming Enrichment Needs include:

Part-time Counselor for supporting the mental and emotional well-being of our students
Technology cycles of replacement for Chromebooks ($450 per student) and other tech that expires
Extra-curricular programs: Drama Club, Robotics Club, Foreign Language course

Our historic main building opened its doors in 1921 (that’s right, over 100 years ago!).

It has been blessed to have survived major earthquakes, to have filled its halls with thousands of students, their families and friends throughout the years, and still remains a strong foundation as our 100 year home. It is crucial for us to maintain and improve our facilities and systems throughout our campus, including our Gym built in 2008.

Upcoming Capital Improvement Projects include:

New HVAC systems to replace aging furnace and add AC in all buildings
New double pane vinyl windows to replace single pane aluminum for better energy efficiency
Revamp main school bathrooms that were last done in the 1980s
Replace 2 portable buildings with brick and mortar buildings to expand classroom space

Recent Accomplishments:

Repaired envelope masonry of Main building and repainted (it looks great!)
Resurfaced Gym floor at year 15, cleaned and resealed exterior (2008 built)
Partial emergency repair of aging plumbing and sewer system in Main building ($50k)

Endowment Fund: a grant of money established to fund charitable and non-profit institutions for the support and maintenance of the organization.

How it works:

The Endowment Fund is an investment portfolio that is grown with time and donations. The initial capital comes from donations, and these assets are invested with the goal of generating an annual income. With each investment to the principal, the Fund offers a constant source of revenue to the school. Each year the organization receives a portion of the value (usually the interest). The principal amount remains and grows with more donations overtime.

This annual income currently funds our Georgian Fund for tuition assistance, impacting 30% of our school families. It is our goal to grow our endowment even further to help assist with other needs of our school.

As members of the St. George School community, it is our responsibility to continue the legacy of St. George for generations to come. Donations made to the endowment are preserved and are invested in a professionally managed fund administered by the Fulcrum Foundation, an institution committed to enhancing the financial resources of non-profit Seattle Catholic schools. Contributions are tax-deductible and eligible for matching gifts from many companies.
