Preschool- Fourth Grade are in the house! Thank you to everyone for your help this morning. The controlled chaos went smoothly! Thank you all for your patience, especially those logging in from home as we solidify our new routines. We could use more help at recesses if you have the time to help at one or two shifts. Contact Chris in the main office with your availability.
- K-4, tomorrow, between 7:50 and 8:10 (at the latest) drop your students off along 13th. Our middle school teachers and I will be out in the morning helping direct the students to the correct places. 7:00-7:40 morning care at the door on Dawson.
- K-4, at pick up, we will bring all the students to the front of the school at 2:50 and 3:00- respectively like we always do for pick-up. You do not have to meet them at the satellite room if you don’t want to.
Once the kids have checked in to the classrooms, each classroom will verify that all the exterior doors are locked and I will secure the gate! We will keep the windows and fans open and running.
One of our parent nurses asked me to send all parents this reminder. With the variants being more contagious it is vital everyone wears a mask that fits correctly. A good way to have the kids do a fit test with their mask is to talk, run, and jump. Masks should be snug enough that they don’t fall.
While playing at recess, we had to remind several kids to pull their masks up over their noses. A few of them have masks on that are way too big and don’t cover their noses. Some kids pulled their masks down while running and were advised to cover their noses. If kids need a mask break, they are to tell a teacher and we will find a place 10 feet away from everyone where they can take their mask off to breathe freely. Masks must be put back on before they go play.
Also a reminder that kids need to keep their hands to themselves and give each other lots of personal space. They are so excited to see each other, but we still need to keep space.
And finally, we need some strong men and women to help assemble two 10’ X 20’ carport-style awnings between the school and the gym and to finish assembling the 6 picnic tables we purchased. If anyone is available from 3 to 5 on Thursday, April 22nd, please let Chris Hanley know; we would really appreciate your help.
See you all tomorrow!
